Week 5 News
9th Boys – Team Moody vs Dogs
The game started out with a David vs Goliath feel to it from the opening tip. The Dogs took a bite out of Moody for the convincing win 55-27. The dogs have a very talented team which is lead by Carson Toy. He finished the game with 18pts for the victors.
Varsity Boys – Team Moody vs Kaminski
The game of the day pitted to undefeated teams against each other Team Moody vs Team Kaminski. Team had the advantage as Kaminski had to play back to back games. The score was tied 28-28 at the half. In the end fatigue didn’t matter as Kaminski pulled out a hard fought win 53-48. The most impressive player of the day was Brandon Wilkins. Brandon is a strong young man with a ton of athleticism. He also has some skill to go along with those bulldog moves to the basket. Can’t wait to see him this year at Medina H.S
7th Boys – Rockets vs Strongsville
Tyler Ferguson of Strongsville hit three, 3 pointers in the first half and two more in the second half to Lead Stronsville to a 42 to 30 victory over the Rockets.
5th Boys
TNBA vs SMAC Select
Select got off to a fast start, behind the play of Robby Smorek, Kyle Zygmunt and Jack Vargo each scoring 4 points. Halftime score Select 15 TNBA 4 with Jack Vargo leading the way, with 10 points for a select victory 27-18
2013 Cleveland West Fall League Review Week 5
8th Boys – SMAC Downs vs Thunder
In this hotly contested game Thunder score the first 6 points of the game Team Downs went on a 10 to 0 run. With Alex Wyatt and Elijah Cintron each scoring 10 points. Team Downs Slowly pulled away for a 44 to 27 victory.
JV Girls – Peabody vs JSBA
The 12:40 game in the JV division featured Peabody vs JSBA. Both teams started slow, but picked up the pace. Halftime score was Peabody in the lead 21 – 6. JSBA started the 2nd half with great momentum. But Peabody closed the game with the final score of 43 – 26. Leading scorers for JSBA with 8 pts & 6 pts was Sarah Heschel and Zanny Sauter. Peabody was led by Naz Hillmon with 8 pts. Michaela Harrison, Katherine Dittoe and Sydney Mayberry each scored 6 pts, as well.
Varsity I Girls – 4Kids vs Lady Ballers
division saw the Lady Ballers battle 4Kids in the 5:15pm match-up. With a commanding score of 32 – 9 at the half, the Lady Ballers continued their dominance in the 2nd half, as well. Led by Greta Burry’s 16pts, Megan Sefcik’s 13pts, Baleigh Reid and Kim Cook’s 11pts each, the Lady Ballers won 71 – 17. 4Kids were led by Lexi Siggers 7pts and Anne Ubbing’s 6pts.
Varsity II Girls – Future vs Dynamite
In the last game on Sunday evening in the Varsity II division saw Future vs Dynamite. A slow first half by Future had them down at halftime 22 – 9. But a 10 – 0 run led by Emily Brock’s 9 pts on three pointers had them within 1 possession. Final score saw Dynamite pull out the 42 – 36 victory. Brittany Morrison, Gretchen Albrecht and Savana Black led Dynamite with 12pts, 9pts and 8pts. Future was led by Emily Brock, Melissa Gee and Camryn Hill’s 13pts, 8pts and 7pts.
